About Beetroot Pulao
A pulao is a one-pot dish made with rice, vegetables, or protein and aromatics (onions, garlic, ginger, etc.), spices, and herbs. A pulao can be made in a variety of ways. Pilaf, pulao, or Pilafi, which originated in Persia, is still thought to be derived from the Sanskrit word pulaka or Pulla ( meaning rice vegetables). Its thought to be an Indian dish that found its way back through Central Asia, according to researchers. The veg biryani recipe, on the other hand, is thought to have originated in Persia and then migrated to India with the Mughals. With this dish, the Mughals altered the Indian culinary history greatly, as they were supporters of exquisite cuisine. Beetroots:
Beetroots are high in fibre, vitamins, and iron, and are a good source of these nutrients. The folate and potassium content of beetroot is high. Its linked to a slew of health benefits, including increased blood flow and reduced blood pressure. Beetroot is also beneficial to the skin.
How to Make Beetroot Pulao
Wash and soak rice for 30 mins. Drain it and set aside. Heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker, add in whole garam masala and let them sizzle. Add in onion and saute till golden brown and ginger garlic paste and saute for a min. Beetroot and saute for 5 mins or so. Add in all spice powder and salt and mix well. Add rice and mix well for 2 mins. Now add in water, milk, coriander leaves and mix well. Bring it to a boil and cover and pressure cook for 1 whistle, simmer for 5 mins. Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself. Now open the lid and fluff the rice with fork. Cover again and set aside for 10 mins. Now serve.
