on Apr 23, 2023, Updated Oct 10, 2023 If you like smoothies, try: Pineapple Banana Smoothie, Strawberry Chia Seed Smoothie, Kiwi Quencher Tropical Smoothie, and Pomegranate Plunge Tropical Smoothie. I love the smoothies at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, but I hate how expensive they are. So, I have taken it upon myself to create the combinations they serve at the outlets at home. This blueberry bliss smoothie is one of the experiments which succeeded well.
About Blueberry Bliss Smoothie
Blueberry Bliss Tropical Smoothie is a delicious drink served at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a fast-casual restaurant specializing in smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and bowls. I tried making the copycat version at home, and it came very close regarding taste and texture. This tropical smoothie recipe has frozen blueberries, bananas, mangoes, pineapple, coconut milk, and orange juice. It is packed with antioxidants and nutrients and comes together in 5 minutes using simple ingredients. Homemade blueberry bliss smoothie is refined sugar-free, gluten-free, and can be made vegan. Serve it for a quick go-to breakfast or snack, or enjoy it as a healthy dessert. You can also make a smoothie bowl by topping it with fresh fruits, granola, nuts, and seeds and enjoy it for a light lunch. You can include Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s Blueberry Bliss smoothie in your weight loss diet, as it keeps you filled for longer. Meal prep the fruits and freeze them a night or a few days before, which is handy while preparing the smoothie.
Smoothie Variations and Add-ons
Greens – Add spinach or kale to your smoothie along with other ingredients. Adding greens will slightly change the color, but the smoothie will taste as delicious as before. To make a thick, creamy smoothie, you need to freeze the fruits. To save time, buy frozen fruits in bulk from Costco or Whole Foods. Coconut Milk – Coconut milk is the base of the smoothie. You can also use dairy milk or other vegan options such as almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, etc. Yogurt – It makes the smoothie thicker and creamier. You can skip the yogurt or use coconut yogurt or other vegan alternatives for a vegan version. Honey is completely optional. If you feel the sweetness from fruits is enough, you can skip it. You can also use maple syrup or turbinado sugar as a vegan alternative. Orange Juice helps blend the ingredients well and adds a citrusy flavor. You can replace it with coconut water, mango nectar, Pineapple Juice, or other fruit juices. Vanilla Extract – Use a good quality vanilla extract for the beautiful vanilla flavor in the smoothie.
1 cup frozen blueberries 1 large banana, sliced and frozen ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks ½ cup frozen mango chunks ½ cup coconut milk ¼ cup plain yogurt ½ cup orange juice 1 tablespoon honey ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Blend until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more orange juice or coconut milk to thin it out. Check for sweetness, and add more honey if needed. Pour the smoothie into tall serving glasses and serve immediately. Before serving, you can add a few ice cubes to each glass. Protein Powder – If you are making it for your pre or post-workout snack, you can add a scoop of protein powder or whey protein. Nut Butter – Add nut butter, such as peanut or almond butter, to add some extra healthy fats. Seeds – To increase the fiber and nutrients in your diet, Add a teaspoon of flax, hemp, or chia seeds. Cinnamon adds slight warmth and spiciness, making the smoothie even more delicious.
