Coconut Sambar Recipe Step by Step
Oil - 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp Curry leaves a sprig Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - ½ tsp
For Sambar:
Onions or Shallots - 1 large sliced or 10 peeled Green Chillies - 2 slit Tomatoes - 1 large chopped Potato - 1 peeled and cubed Carrot - 1 chopped Beans - 6 chopped Cucumber- 1small chopped Ladies Finger / Okra - 5 chopped Tamarind Pulp - 2 tbsp or to taste Salt to taste Sugar or Jaggery - 1 tsp Coriander Powder / Malli Podi - 2 tbsp Chilli Powder - 2 tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp Coconut - ½ cup grated and ground with water Coriander leaves a handful chopped Water as needed
