I get bored with your common smoothie recipes (we really don’t need another strawberry and banana remix). This recipe shakes things up by using winter produce, which gives more vibrant flavor and stronger nutrition than frozen fruit. It’s made with cranberries, pomegranate juice, bananas, almond milk, greek yogurt, and ice. It’s so easy to make and can be ready in minutes. I love this Cranberry Pomegranate Smoothie recipe in the fall and winter when fresh cranberries are in season. It’s a great way to eat raw cranberries! You can also make this a mixed berry smoothie by adding raspberries, or toss in any of the leftover fruit or frozen produce you want to clean out of your fridge. If you end up with leftover cranberries from Thanksgiving or Christmas, don’t let them go to waste! You can even freeze them in single serving portions, ready for blending whenever you’re ready!

Feel free to halve the recipe if you only need enough for 1. You may also want to vary this recipe based on your preference for texture and tartness. Add more dairy or coconut milk for a creamy taste and easier pour. A frozen banana, tablespoons of honey, or maple syrup can be used as a sweetener to balance the tart flavor. As always, you can make this a green smoothie by adding a few handfuls of spinach or kale. A scoop of a neutral or complementary flavor of protein powder (like vanilla) would be a great addition, too. I like to dot a few pomegranate arils on top of the smoothie for a garnish!
