Ingredients for Dhokla Recipe
For Dhokla:
Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai Mavu - 1.5 cup Sooji / Rava / Semolina - 1.5 tbsp Curd - 1 cup Water - ¼ to ½ cup Salt to taste Sugar - 1 tblspn Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp Eno Fruit Salt - 1 ½ tsp
For Grinding:
Ginger - 1 tbsp Green Chilli - 3 Water - 2 tbsp
For Tempering:
Oil - 3 tbsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp Green Chilli - 1 finely chopped Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - ¼ tsp Water - 4 tbsp
For Topping:
Coriander Leaves / Cilantro - 3 tbsp finely chopped Coconut - 3 tbsp Grated
For Green Chutney:
Coriander leaves / Cilantro - 1 cup Mint Leaves - 1 cup Green Chilli - 2 to 3 Sugar - 1 tsp Salt to taste Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp Water - as needed to blend
Now coming back to todays recipe, it is a steamed lentil cake called as dhokla. I have been waiting to post this recipe, because it is one of my favorite..I love to have it with green chutney and tamarind chutney. I have made a version of green chutney here to serve it with this. I have posted that recipe too.. I recommend you to have this with any of those chutney, because they do pack a punch..So try it out and let me know how they turn out..
