About Oreo Hot Chocolate

Oreo Hot Chocolate is a delicious beverage made by combining two of your favorites – Hot Chocolate and Oreo Cookies. This rich, creamy, and chocolaty drink is popularly served at Dunkin Donuts. After multiple trials, I came up with a recipe that tastes very similar to Dunkin Donuts. It is super easy to make, uses only 4 ingredients, and comes together in under 10 minutes. Serve this decadent drink on a cold winter evening to keep you warm from the inside. I made this Oreo hot chocolate recipe in a pan over the stovetop but you can make it in an instant pot too. You can also easily double or triple the recipe if making it for a crowd. Here are a few more hot beverage recipes that you may like

Ingredients

Milk – Use whole milk (full-fat milk) for the creamiest hot chocolate. Having said that, you can even opt for skim milk or low-fat milk. To make a vegan version of this drink, use any plant-based milk (dairy-free milk) such as almond milk, coconut milk, oats milk, soy milk, etc. Oreo Cookies – Use regular Oreo cookies to make this hot chocolate drink. These cookies are vegan-friendly, so if you are a vegan, feel free to use them. Oreo also has gluten-free cookies. Use them to make this drink gluten-free. Cocoa Powder – Unsweetened Dutch-processed cocoa powder is the best to make hot chocolate. I used Hershey’s but you can use any brand that you like. Sugar – Adjust according to your taste.

How To Make Oreo Hot Chocolate

Add

2 cups of whole milk 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder ¼ cup of granulated sugar

to a medium saucepan and mix well. Cook over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil, stirring frequently to avoid scorching at the bottom of the pan. Add 4 crushed Oreos cookies and stir until they are dissolved and the hot chocolate is creamy. Check for sugar and add more if needed. Pour into 2 serving mugs and top with whipped cream. Sprinkle some crushed ores on top and serve.

Serving Suggestions

Serve it hot, right out of the pan! Enjoy it as it is, or top it with some whipped cream and marshmallow or crushed Oreo cookies for some holiday cheer. You can also enjoy it on the side with a flaky croissant for an indulgent breakfast or with your favorite snack on a cold winter evening.

Storage Suggestions

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for about 3-4 days in the fridge. Heat it up in a pan or microwave, and stir well before serving. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy.
