About Sesame Seed Ladoo
Ellu urundai, also known as sesame ladoos, is a traditional Indian sweet ball made with sesame seeds, jaggery, and cardamom powder. These sweet balls are not only delicious with a nutty aroma, but they are also high in iron and calcium. Sesame ladoos are also known as til ladoo, Til ke laddu, ellu unde, and nuvvula undalu. Sesame seed is one of the oldest known oil seed crops, having been domesticated over 3,000 years ago. Many other species of Sesamum exist, the majority of which are wild and native to Sub-Saharan Africa. The cultivated type, S. indicum, originated in India. It tolerates drought well and grows where other crops fail. Sesame seed contains the most oil of any seed. It is a common ingredient in cuisines all over the world due to its rich, nutty flavour.

Version 2: Ellu Urundai Recipe (Sesame Seed Laddu | Til Ladoo
This method is a bit crucial but so simple. Getting the jaggery syrup right is the main thing. And if you find it hard to make balls from the hot mix, you can spread the mix over greased parchment paper and spread it evenly. Then cut it into squares..So try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..

How to Make Ellu Urundai
Step 1: Dry roast sesame seeds till they pop. Once you get nice aroma, remove them to a plate and allow it to cool down, Take them in a blender and crush them coarsely. Just use the pulse mode one or two times. Step 2: Now heat jaggery and water till it is melted. Strain it. Step 3: Now put it back on stove in a heavy bottom pan. Boil it till it reaches pahu stage..It will be thick and glossy. Step 4: At this stage add the powdered sesame seed. Mix well. Immediately transfer it to a plate. Let it cool for a bit. Step 5: Grease your hands with some ghee or oil. Take small portion from the mix and shape into balls. Serve or store in an air tight container.
