About Pineapple Juice

Fresh Pineapple Juice is a sweet and tart tropical delight made using just 3 ingredients – fresh pineapple, granulated white sugar, and black salt. Water is added to adjust the consistency, and ice cubes make it nice, chilled, and apt for a hot sunny day. It is quick, easy, and super refreshing. I added a little sugar while making the juice, but you can avoid it if you are cutting down on the sugar or the pineapple is super sweet. Sip this juice between meals, serve it as an evening snack, or enjoy a chilled glass with breakfast. I love to serve it for my backyard parties or BBQs, too. It will surely freshen you up, along with keeping you hydrated. The best part about making it at home is that it is free of added color, preservatives, and other chemicals. When made at home, you can always control the sugar in the juice or even completely avoid adding it for health reasons. Also, the taste of bottled juices can never match the taste of fresh juice prepared at home. It is also super economical to make it at home, and when it comes together in under 10 minutes, there is no looking back. This raw pineapple juice recipe is vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free too. Ingredients and Substitutes

Pineapple – Choose fresh ripe pineapples to juice. To save time and effort, you can also buy pre-cut pineapple. Sugar – Sugar is optional. Add it only if you feel it’s needed. Sometimes, the pineapple is very sweet and needs no extra sweetener. You can also replace sugar with honey or maple syrup. Black Salt – This ingredient will take your regular homemade juice to another level. Try it and thank me later! Add regular salt and ground black pepper for that extra taste. Adding mint leaves and ginger is also a good option.

How To Make Pineapple Juice

Prepare The Pineapple

Start by preparing the pineapple. Lay a medium-sized ripe pineapple on its side, chop off the top and bottom parts, and expose the flesh. Now, keep the pineapple upright and cut the skin off the flesh along with the eyes. Cut the peeled pineapple into slices and then chop the slices into 1-inch pieces.

Juice The Pineapple

Add the pineapple pieces to a blender jar with

1 cup of water 2 tablespoon sugar ¼ teaspoon black salt

Don’t add sugar if the pineapple is very sweet. Blend until smooth. Strain the juice using a fine-mesh strainer. Be sure to press out all the juice by pressing the pulp with the back of a spoon or a spatula. Discard the residual pulp as it is very fibrous. Pour the juice into serving glasses. Add a few ice cubes, and garnish with mint leaves and pineapple wedge. Serve immediately. Note – If you make the juice in a slow juicer, load it with chunks of pineapple and juice as per the instructions. Add sugar and salt to the ready juice and stir until combined.

Variations

You can experiment with the flavors and prepare some interesting variations for yourself. Some of them are, Pineapple Orange Cranberry – Mix it with part orange juice or cranberry juice for a tasty twist. Pineapple Lemonade – Add in some freshly squeezed lemon juice and make yourself a refreshing lemonade. Boozy Twist – Add vodka or coconut rum like Malibu for a boozy tropical twist. Tropical Mocktail – Add blue curacao and coconut water for a funky mocktail. Pineapple Ginger – Add some ginger, salt, and pepper for a unique and distinct taste. You can also use this juice to make pineapple margaritas, pineapple mojitos, or mimosas. Use it to make zesty salad dressing or ice cream floats.

Storage Suggestions

Fresh pineapple juice stays good in the refrigerator for almost 3 to 5 days when stored in an airtight container, but it loses its freshness and flavor. That’s why I recommend you make it fresh. And if you have leftovers, consume them within 24 hours. It can be frozen in any freezer-safe container for 4-5 months. Just thaw it in the refrigerator and use it. You can also freeze it in popsicle molds for a fun treat for the kids.
