I made a couple of rolls, which is made of whole wheat. I left out butter and used olive oil for this. So they turned out healthy. Hope you will love it and give it a try. How to Make Submarine Rolls
Take a mixing bowl, add warm water in it. Sprinkle some yeast over it, add some sugar in it and mix well. leave it aside for 5 mins. Add in the wheat flour and regular flour in and mix well. Add some salt in it and knead it to a dough. Drizzle in a tblspn of oil over it and knead well. Transfer this dough into a greased mixing bowl and cover it with plastic wrap and set it aside for a couple of hours. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Take one portion out and flatten it slightly. Pinch the top portion over it and the bottom portion too, so that it forms into a fat log. Roll the log, so that it forms into a long sausage shape. Place the log onto a greased foil lined tray and leave it to rise for a hour.
How to Bake Hoagie Rolls Recipe
Before 10 mins of the final rising time, preheat the oven to 200 Degree C / 400 Degree F. When it has doubled in size. Brush the top with water. Sprinkle it with sesame seeds. Use a knife and make slashes on the rolls. Bake this in an oven for 30 - 40 mins till it is golden on top and when you tap the top it should sound hollow. Brush the rolls with olive oil or butter. Serve it with butter or make sandwiches out of it.
