About Gingerbread Latte

One of my favorite holiday drinks at Starbucks used to be their Gingerbread Latte but in 2019, they retired this classic beverage. After multiple trials at home, I came up with my very own recipe that tastes almost as good, and the best part is that it can be made at a fraction of the cost at home. You can also customize it to your taste. Add more or less sweetener, and spices, or use the milk of your choice. With steamed milk, espresso shots, warm spices, and dark molasses, this Starbucks Copycat Gingerbread Latte is an ideal cup of coffee to relish on a cozy winter evening. This festive latte is creamy, perfectly sweetened, and will surely satiate your taste buds with its incredible holiday flavors. This homemade gingerbread latte recipe is vegetarian and gluten-free. You can easily make it vegan too. Scale the gingerbread latte recipe if making it for a crowd. You can also make an iced variation for the warmer winter afternoons. Ingredients

Espresso – Use an espresso machine to make the espresso shots. If you don’t have one, you can brew strong coffee using any of your favorite methods like a Moca pot, French press, Nespresso machine, or even a simple brew machine. Instant espresso made using instant coffee powder also works fine. Molasses – Molasses gives an earthy flavor to this coffee drink that complements the warm spices really well. Use non sulfured dark molasses for the best flavor. You can substitute the sweet molasses with white sugar, brown sugar, honey, or maple syrup. Spices – Warm spices like ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg give it that gingerbread flavor. Milk – Use whole milk (full-fat milk) for the best creamy coffee. Having said that, skim, low-fat or plant-based milk (almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk, soy milk, etc) also works fine. Keep in consideration that plant-based milk does not froth well. Variation – Make an adult variation (coffee cocktail) of this yummy gingerbread latte by adding a splash of rum, Kahlua, baileys, or bourbon. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to this copycat recipe for a taste change.
