on Apr 04, 2024 Here are some more homemade sauce recipes: Asian Zing Sauce, Lemon Herb Tahini Sauce, Bang Bang Sauce, Cilantro Garlic Sauce, and Hibachi Mustard Sauce. During our stay in LA, we used to go to In-N-Out multiple times a month. For Mohit and I, their super cheap and yet very delicious burgers pulled us to the chain on repeat; for Bhavye, it was the outlet’s location. The one near to us was just next to the LAX airport. Bhavye would sit on the bench, watch airplanes land, and take off for hours. What made In and out burgers so delicious was their secret sauce. After trying it multiple times at home, I have a recipe similar to the sauce used in the fast-food chain.

About This Recipe

In-N-Out Burger Sauce is a signature sauce used by the fast food chain In-N-Out Burger. It is often referred to as “spread” and is one of the keys to their signature flavor.  The recipe is a secret but often compared to Thousand Island dressing. It is a mix of mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, Worcestershire sauce, and other ingredients. This sauce is typically served with their burgers and fries. Since they don’t sell their secret sauce, the only way to enjoy it without going to the outlet is to make it yourself!

Variations

Add some hot sauce, cayenne pepper, or red pepper flakes to the recipe to give it a spicy kick. Ketchup – It gives a nice tang to the sauce. Others – You will also need sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, granulated white sugar, plain paprika, mustard, and salt.

½ cup of mayonnaise 3 tablespoons of ketchup 2 tablespoons of sweet pickle relish 1 and ½ teaspoons of distilled white vinegar 1 and ½ teaspoons of granulated white sugar ½ teaspoon of paprika ¼ teaspoon of mustard A pinch of salt

Stir until well mixed. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. Use as desired! Add more sugar or some honey to make it sweeter. To make it creamier, add some unsweetened whipping cream. Replace the mayonnaise in the original recipe with vegan mayonnaise to make it vegan-friendly. Add some smoked paprika to give it a smoky flavor. Mix in some BBQ sauce with the original recipe to give it a BBQ flavor. Add minced garlic or garlic powder to the recipe for a garlicky twist.

Usage Ideas

The most obvious way to use In-N-Out copycat sauce is as a topping for a homemade burger. It adds a tangy, sweet, savory flavor that complements the meat. Spread it on a grilled cheese sandwich, pizza, wrap, or burrito for a twist on the classic. It’s also excellent as a dip for raw vegetables, French fries, sweet potato fries, or onion rings. Use it as a marinade for grilled or baked chicken. Mix it with vinegar and use it as a salad dressing. Drizzle over fish tacos, hot dogs, roasted vegetables, etc, for a tangy zip.
