on May 22, 2024 Here are some more summer drink recipes: Kulukki, Watermelon Mint Mojito, Virgin Mojito, and Mohabbat ka Sharbat. Sharbats and squashes are a tradition in India. My mother used to make various varieties and store them for a full year. Kesar Chandan Sharbat, Kokum Juice Concentrate, and Jeera Soda Concentrate were the most popular. During the summer, when keeping oneself hydrated was essential, a few teaspoons of one of these concentrates were mixed with water or chilled club soda to make instant refreshing beverages. In this post, I am sharing the Jeera Soda recipe, my mom’s specialty. Try it, and let me know how you liked it in the comments.
About Jeera Soda
Jeera Soda is an Indian summer beverage made using cumin seeds as its star ingredient. It is cooling and has digestive properties. You can make the jeera concentrate and refrigerate it for up to a month. Whenever you feel like drinking something refreshing, just mix the concentrate with some chilled club soda, and your drink will be ready. Others – You will also need black peppercorns, granulated white sugar, black salt, chaat masala powder, water, and lime juice. Chilled club soda is used to top the drink. For a twist, you can replace soda with Pepsi, Mirinda, etc. Add the roasted spices to a grinder and grind to make a fine powder. Pass the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer. You can now store this syrup in a glass bottle for up to a month. Add 1 tablespoon lime juice and 2 tablespoon of jeera syrup to the glass.
