Ingredients for Karpooravalli Leaves Bajji
Karpooravalli / Omavalli - 20 leaves Oil for deep frying
For Batter:
Gram Flour / Kadalaimavu - 1 cup Chilli Powder - 1 tsp Salt - to taste Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - a pinch Baking Soda / Cooking Soda a pinch Water as needed
A really delicious bajji can be made using that and you will never get the pungent taste from the leaves when it is made into this dish. It taste really good and yummy..My 1.5 year old daughter loved it, so guess the taste.. I made a simple bajji batter using gram flour alone. It has to be thick because the leaves need a thicker covering. Taste great with a cup of chai.. Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..
