Laddu or laddoo is a spherical sweet originating from the Indian subcontinent. Flour, fat (ghee/butter/oil), and sugar are the main ingredients of laddus. Gram flour is commonly used in laddus, however semolina can also be used. Ingredients such as chopped nuts and/or dried raisins are sometimes included. The ingredientsused in each recipe may differ. During festive or religious occasions, laddus are frequently served. The recipe for this laddu originated in north India, however, it is now popular throughout the Indian subcontinent.
