The only good thing about Indian summers is the mangoes. I wait all year long for mangoes to show up at the market, and then I go crazy. I eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and make many recipes using them. Over the years, I have made mango versions of many of my favorite recipes—Mango Phirni, Mango Shrikhand, Mango Overnight Oats—you name it, and chances are you will find the recipe on this blog. This Mango Iced tea is my classic iced tea flavored with mango puree. It is a great drink to sip on the hot summer days. Try it!
About Mango Iced Tea
A refreshing blend of brewed black tea, mango puree, lime juice, and mint leaves makes this Mango Iced Tea a perfect drink for summer parties, BBQs, picnics, or brunches. I make a big pitcher of this iced tea with tropical flavors using fresh fruit and sip it all day during mango season. Made in just 15 minutes, it is easy, fruity, and gives instant relief from the blistering heat. Make this refreshing mango iced tea recipe using freshly pureed, canned, or frozen mangoes.
Storage Suggestions
This tea tastes best when made fresh, but if you have leftovers, they will last for 3 to 4 days in a covered glass jar when kept in the refrigerator. You can use tea bags in place of loose tea. Mango Puree – You can make mango puree at home or buy a can. I have mentioned the process of making homemade puree in this post below. Lime – Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best result. Mint Leaves – Fresh mint leaves add a refreshing and distinct taste to this drink. You can replace them with basil leaves for a flavor change. Sweetener – If the mangoes are sweet enough, you do not need any sweetener. But if you need to, choose from sugar, maple syrup, agave nectar, or honey (not vegan). Add tequila, white rum, or vodka splash to make spiked mango iced tea. Stir in 1 cup mango puree, 6 teaspoon lime juice, and 15-20 mint leaves. Refrigerate the tea for 1-2 hours.
