Mohit once had a work assignment in Malaysia for a year. I accompanied him on his work trip, and we visited Thailand many times for vacations. We picked up the taste of Mai Tai’s from there. I have already made it a few times because it is so so good. You guys must try it too!
About Mango Mai Tai
Mango Flavored Mai Tai is a simple and refreshing cocktail you must try on a hot summer day. It is a take on a classic tropical mai tai cocktail prepared with dark rum, orange liqueur, orgeat syrup, pineapple juice, and mango puree. Serve this drink for your next house party or sip by the pool on a hot summer day. Mango Puree – I prefer homemade mango puree made with Alphonso mangoes, which are sweet and juicy. If you do not have fresh mangoes, you can also use frozen mangoes or mango puree. Grand Marnier is an orange-flavored liquor. You can use other orange-flavored liquors, like Cointreau or Triple Sec, instead. Orgeat Syrup -Orgeat syrup is a sweet syrup made from almonds, sugar, and sometimes rose water or orange flower water. It is a key ingredient in the Mai Tai recipe and can be found at many specialty food stores, liquor stores, or online. You will also need freshly squeezed lime juice, pineapple juice (fresh or canned), and lots of ice. Garnish the drink with fresh edible flowers and fresh mint leaves. Add the following ingredients to the shaker.
2 oz (60 ml) dark rum 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice ½ oz (15 ml) grand Marnier ½ oz (15 ml) orgeat syrup ¼ oz (8 ml) pineapple juice 1 oz (30 ml) mango puree
Strain the cocktail into a tall glass filled with 10-12 ice cubes. Garnish the drink with a mint sprig and edible flowers. Serve!
