Amma’s Chilli Onion Pachadi
This is my amma’s famous recipe, she makes this more often than anything else. Whenever she makes her paruppu kulambu( DAL), it must be accompanied by this pachadi. Warm Dal mixed with hot rice along with a generous drizzle of homemade ghee and let’s not forget the papadam, mix all those together, take a generous portion out of it( don’t ask me how generous, as long as the portion fits your mouth) form it into round balls. Now comes the interesting part, dip that round ball in this pachadi and without any delay throw them into your mouth. I should tell you this, this taste like heaven..It reminds so much of amma for me.
Ingredients for Onion Pachadi Recipe
Onion - 1 large finely chopped Green Chillies - 10 chopped finely Tamarind Pulp - 3 tbsp ( Click here for recipe) Jaggery / Sarkarai - 2 tblspn Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp Curry leaves - 1 spring chopped finely Oil- 3 tbsp Salt to taste
