A chocolate tart, also known as a chocolate cream pie, is a dessert made of dark chocolate, cream, and eggs that have been beaten together before being poured into a crisp, sweetened pastry shell and baked until firm. It is classified as a custard tart because it contains an egg-based filling. The dish is similar to chocolate moussein composition, but baking gives the chocolate tart a firmer texture. The French word tarte can mean either pie or tart, as they are essentially the same, with the exception that a pie usually covers the filling in pastry, whereas flans and tarts leave it open. Tarts come in a variety of flavours, including Treacle tart, meringuetart, tarte tatin, and Bakewell tart. A jam tart substitutes jam for fresh fruit. This tart is so chocolaty, frankly you will get into chocolate sick when you have this. Each mouthful will dissolve meltingly in your mouth. It is that good.. I used strawberries as topping to make this more colourful, but you can easily use raspberry, blueberry or any fruit as you like. Butter :The best flavour comes from butter, which forms light, lofty, flaky layers in pie crust. The flakiness is due in part to the water content of the butter, which evaporates and turns to steam as the pie bakes, separating and puffing up the layers of dough.
