Here are some of my favorite smoothie recipes that you can easily make at home: Berry Blast Smoothie, Green Goddess Smoothie, Pumpkin Pie Spice Smoothie, Watermelon Smoothie, and Celery Smoothie. My go-to breakfast is smoothies. You can make a million combinations and have a new and unique breakfast each day. This Pineapple and banana smoothie is my current obsession. With just five ingredients and five minutes, you have a healthy, filling breakfast ready.
About Pineapple Banana Smoothie
This Healthy Pineapple and Banana Smoothie is a delicious and refreshing blend of five simple ingredients: banana, fresh pineapple, Greek yogurt, milk, and honey. It is super easy to make and loaded with tropical flavors. This tropical smoothie recipe has all the flavors of a pina colada, and a sip will take you straight to a beach vacation. Serve a quick banana pineapple smoothie for a healthy breakfast, a healthy snack in between meals, or whenever hunger strikes. Pineapple – Try to use fresh, ripe pineapple for the best result. You can buy frozen fresh pineapples to save yourself some time. Greek Yogurt has been strained to remove most of its whey, resulting in thick, creamy yogurt. You can use plain Greek yogurt or yogurt flavored with pineapple. Milk is optional, but I add it to thin the smoothie a bit. Use your milk of choice. Honey is also optional. If the banana and pineapple are sweet enough, you can skip adding them. I sometimes replace honey with condensed milk for sweetness. This makes the smoothie richer and creamier. Peel 1 large banana and cut it into slices. Freeze it for 3-4 hours. Gather the remaining ingredients.
Make The Smoothie
Add the following ingredients to a high-speed blender.
1 cup frozen pineapple chunks 1 large banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen 1 cup chilled Greek yogurt ¼ cup chilled low-fat milk 2 teaspoon honey
Tip – If the fruits are very hard, then thaw them for 10 minutes before blending. Blend until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more milk. Check for sweetness and add more sweetener if necessary. Pour the smoothie into serving glasses. Garnish with pineapple wedges and mint leaves and serve chilled. If you have forgotten to freeze the fruits, add a few ice cubes while blending. Avoid using canned pineapple or pineapple juice, as they will not do justice to this recipe. You will end up with something unhealthy and tastes yikes, and there is no point in using canned pineapple when you can easily get such beautiful fresh ones. Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to the recipe to make a pre or post-workout snack. You can also add a little vanilla extract to flavor this yummy smoothie. You can add leafy greens like spinach or kale, fresh orange juice, mango, kiwi fruit, strawberry, coconut water, coconut milk, pumpkin, flax seeds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, etc to this smoothie recipe and make new versions for yourself. Other interesting options to add to this smoothie are orange, peach, papaya, apple, blueberry, passion fruit, ginger, and cinnamon. Replace plain yogurt with pineapple-flavored yogurt. Milk can be replaced with pineapple juice or coconut water.
