on Jan 29, 2024, Updated Oct 16, 2024 If you are like me and like to sip on hot tea during the day, then here are some more of my favorite tea recipes. Do try them as well – Strawberry Tea, Saffron Tea, Kahwa, Ground Sumac Tea, and Passion Fruit Iced Tea. If you read my blogs, you know my love for teas. I love sipping on hot teas throughout the day and I am always looking for new flavors to add to my collection. I visited a restaurant recently and saw this pineapple ginger tea on their menu. It sounded very interesting, so I ordered myself a cup and I am so glad I did. It was one of the most comforting and soothing teas I had tasted. After coming back home, the first thing I did was to order a pineapple to replicate the recipe. This tea was made on repeat for the next few days. I made this drink without tea leaves, just like how it was served at the restaurant, but you can also make it with them. You can make a big batch of this tea and refrigerate it in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Just reheat and serve.

About Pineapple Ginger Tea

Pineapple and Ginger tea is a refreshing beverage made using pineapple, ginger, turmeric, and a few other ingredients. It has all the health benefits of the amazing ingredients that are used to make it. The best part about this gluten-free drink is that you can enjoy it chilled on a hot summer day or serve it warm during the colder months. Ginger – Fresh ginger roots give this tea a nice spicy kick. If fresh ginger is not available, then you can use ground ginger in its place. Turmeric – Use either fresh turmeric roots or turmeric powder. Others – You will also need honey, lemon juice, and ice cubes. Replace honey with maple syrup or agave nectar to make a vegan recipe. You can also make this drink with tea leaves. Just add a teaspoon of black tea, chamomile, green tea, oolong tea, or Earl Grey tea once the tea is ready and cook for another extra minute. Then follow the process as is. Peel a 2-inch piece of ginger and cut it into thin slices. Peel 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric and cut it into thin slices. If fresh turmeric is unavailable, then replace it with ½ teaspoon organic turmeric powder.

1 large pineapple (peeled and cut into ½ inch pieces) 2-inch piece of ginger (peeled and cut into thin slices) 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric (peeled and cut into thin slices) 4 cups of water

Now, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 30 minutes. If you want to make iced tea, then cool down the tea to room temperature. Then refrigerate it for 3-4 hours or until chilled. Pour the chilled tea over ice cubes and serve. Adjust the sweetness as per your preference by adding more or less honey.
