One of my all time favorite sambar is onion sambar and this potato sambar. I love the big chunks of cooked potatoes in this which pairs well fluffy idly, crispy dosas and almost all tiffin items like pongal. Give this and try and let me know how it turns out.
Ingredients for Potato Sambar Recipe
Masoor Dal or Moong Dal - ½ cup Potato - 1 large pepper and cubed Onion - 1 small chopped into large chunks Tomato - 1 medium size cubed Green Chilli - 2 slit Homemade Sambar powder - 3 tbsp Tamarind Pulp - 2 tbsp Salt to taste Sugar - 1 tsp Coriander leaves / Cilantro a handful chopped
For Seasoning:
Oil - 2 tbsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi - ¼ tsp Curry leaves - 1 sprig
