I recently came across a recipe to make pasta sauce using sour cream. I had a tub of sour cream sitting in my fridge, so I thought I would give the recipe a try. It was approved by everyone at home.

About Sour Cream Pasta Sauce

This Pasta Sauce is the easiest and yummiest pasta sauce you can make on a busy day. It is creamy, needs simple pantry ingredients, and comes together in under 15 minutes. Once the sauce is ready, toss in some cooked pasta and sauteed veggies or protein, and a quick meal is ready in no time.

Serving Suggestions

Fettuccine Alfredo: Toss the sauce with freshly cooked fettuccine noodles and top with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese. Butter – Adds a rich flavor to the sauce. You can use salted or unsalted butter. Garlic – Use fresh garlic for the best taste. Flour – It makes the sauce thick and creamy. To make the pasta sauce healthier, replace it with whole wheat flour. Milk – Use whole milk for a rich and creamy sauce. You can also make it with low-fat or skim milk. Seasonings – Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg powder. Adjust it according to your choice. You can also add the seasoning of your choice, such as Cajun seasoning, mustard, red pepper flakes, paprika, etc, for added flavor. Once the butter is melted, add 2 teaspoon minced garlic and cook for 30-40 seconds. Pour 1 cup of milk slowly and whisk simultaneously to make a smooth mixture.

Vegetable Pasta Salad: Toss cooked pasta with fresh vegetables like cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, and dress with pasta sauce. Meatball Subs: Top a toasted sub roll with meatballs, marinara sauce, and a generous dollop of pasta sauce. Seafood Linguine: Serve the sauce over linguine pasta with shrimp or scallops and sprinkle with chopped parsley and lemon zest.
