About Green Goddess Dressing
This Trader Joe’s Copycat Green Goddess Salad Dressing is a favorite at my home! Smooth, creamy, tangy, and full of flavors, it make any boring salad taste delicious. The refreshing flavors from the herbs and creaminess of the Greek yogurt will make this one your favorite, too. This green salad dressing is a beautiful combination of fresh Italian basil, parsley, and green onions flavored with a few other basic ingredients such as lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Just add all the ingredients to the blender or a food processor and pulse to get a creamy and tangy dressing in under 5 minutes. Super easy and quick, this bright dressing is perfect for using the herbs in your fridge. Use it as a salad dressing, serve it as a dip, or marinate your chicken or seafood; it tastes great in every way. This recipe is vegetarian and gluten-free. You can easily double or triple it too. As summers are here and there will be a lot of salad on the menu these days, I am sharing a few more salad dressing recipes that I often make at home

Ingredients
Greek Yogurt – I have used Greek yogurt to make the base of this dressing, but you can use a mix of mayonnaise and Greek yogurt or a vegan yogurt if you want to make a vegan version. An avocado can also replace yogurt. Sour cream also makes for a great base for this dressing. Be creative, make it a few times using different combinations, see which one you like the most, and then stick to it. Herbs – You will need fresh herbs like Italian basil, parsley, and green onions. If you can find tarragon, add it for the classic licorice-like taste. But as the flavor is strong, use it in a limited quantity. Other herbs, such as cilantro, mint, chives, etc, can also be added for a refreshing taste. Lemon – Lemon zest and lemon juice give the dressing a nice tang, and I highly recommend it. Try to use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best result. Garlic – I always add a few cloves of garlic to my dressing as I am a garlic lover, plus it’s good for your system. Do try using it and see the difference. Others – You will also need salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and extra virgin olive oil. Many people add anchovies to their green goddess dressing but I always refrain from adding it as it’s too strong a flavor for me. But if you love anchovies, add 2-3 canned anchovies while blending the dressing. You can also add capers instead of anchovies for a vegetarian version. Alpha alpha sprouts and sunflower seeds are also some great add-ons. You can add extra virgin olive oil to the recipe for added richness.
How To Make Green Goddess Dressing
Pluck the basil and parsley leaves from the thick stem and discard the stems. Measure out ¼ cup basil and 2 tablespoon parsley. Tightly pack the measures while measuring the leaves. Wash the leaves and keep them aside. Chop 2 green onions roughly. Combine
½ cup Greek yogurt ¼ cup Italian basil (packed) 2 tablespoon parsley (packed) 2 green onions (chopped) 2-3 cloves of garlic (peeled) ½ teaspoon lemon zest 1 teaspoon lemon juice ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
to the blender and blend until smooth. Thin down the dressing with some water if it’s too thick. Check for salt and add more if needed. Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
