Ingredients for Ladies Finger Sambar Recipe (Vendakkai Sambar recipe)
Ghee - 1 tbsp Shallots / Sambar Onion - 10 Tomato - 2 medium size chopped Lady Finger - 15 cut into pieces Green Chilli - 1 Slit Curry leaves - 1 spring Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp Coriander Powder / Malli podi - 1 tbsp Chilli Powder - 1 tsp Cumin Powder / Jeera Podi - 1 tsp Tamarind Pulp - 2 tblspn ( Click here for recipe) Tuvar Dal / Toor Dal / Tuvaram Paruppu - 1 cup dry Salt to taste Sugar to taste
For Seasoning:
Ghee - 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp Cumin seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu - 1 tsp Hing / Asafoetida / Kaya podi - ¼ tsp Dry Red Chilli - 2
