on Jan 06, 2021, Updated Nov 27, 2023 If you like to sip on fresh fruit juices, try these recipes: Pineapple Juice, Mango Juice, Watermelon Ginger Juice, and Kokam Juice. While eating fruits is the best way to consume them, I eat very little. By juicing the fruits, although a few fibers get lost, I still get my share of vitamins and minerals right at the beginning of the day, and it’s much healthier than drinking sugar-loaded drinks. Making this easy fresh watermelon juice at home is super simple. All you have to do is chop the watermelon and blend it. There is no need for any fancy high-speed blender. Your regular one will work perfectly fine. There is no need to worry about the watermelon seeds as well. I like adding a little black salt to my watermelon juice as it takes it to the next level; it is optional. Black salt’s earthy flavor elevates watermelon’s sweetness like no other ingredient. Try this combination once, and I can promise you will be hooked. You can also add a little black pepper powder, chaat masala powder, fresh mint leaves, chopped ginger, lime juice, or lemon juice while making the juice. These ingredients change the taste and have health benefits. I sometimes add other fruits like oranges, grapefruits, pomegranates, etc., and berries like strawberries, raspberries, etc., along with watermelon. I used a small watermelon, roughly 3 pounds (1.5 kg), but you can juice as much as you want. Rinse the watermelon and remove the watermelon rind using a sharp knife. Cut the flesh roughly into 1-inch pieces. You will get approximately 26 oz (750 g) of watermelon flesh. Tip – Some blenders are not powerful enough and need some liquid at their base to blend. In this case, add just a handful of watermelon pieces to the blender and blend them before adding the rest. Blend for 10-12 seconds. Do not over-blend; otherwise, the seeds (if any) will also blend along with the pulp. Keep a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl. Pour the juice into the strainer. Press with the back of a spoon to get as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp. The watermelon I used had many seeds, so I passed the juice through a fine mesh strainer to eliminate them. If you use seedless watermelon and are okay with some pulp coming into your mouth, you can skip this process. Add black salt and mix well. Although adding black salt is optional, it adds a delicious flavor to this juice, so it is highly recommended. Pour the watermelon juice into glasses and serve. If the watermelon was not chilled earlier, refrigerate it for a few hours. Adding a few ice cubes before serving is also recommended. Cut the watermelon beforehand and store it in the fridge for an hour or two. When you blend it, you get a refreshing chilled drink that will give you instant relief from the heat. Add sweeteners like sugar, agave, or maple syrup if the watermelon is not sweet enough. If the juice separates as it sits, stir it using a spoon. If you use seedless watermelon and are okay with some pulp coming into your mouth, you can skip straining it. Add some coconut water to the juice to increase its nutritional benefits.
